Parametric & Freestyle Surfacing – Parametric Surfacing can be used to quickly build complicated solid geometry. While most modeling features have a “surface” option it’s more important to know how to leverage those surfaces to create solid models. In many cases where models have complex geometry, we can combine simple technical parametric surfaces to quickly create that geometry. Freestyle Surfacing can be used to create more “organic” shapes not confined by traditional parametric constraints. Freestyle surface modeling allows us to create smooth and well-defined B-spline surfaces quickly and easily using a polygonal control mesh. The elements of a Freestyle surface can be subdivided to provide even greater detail, control, and manipulability.
