PTC Codebeamer Risk Management is essential for identifying, analyzing, mitigating, and reducing risks during critical processes in developing safety-critical and complex embedded systems. It supports compliance with key standards, such as ISO 14971, by ensuring that risks are managed systematically throughout product development, helping teams maintain safety and regulatory alignment.

The Risk Matrix Diagram visualizes the number of requirement items linked to associated risks. The Risk Tracker automatically calculates the risk value using a preconfigured field that multiplies likelihood and severity. The diagram displays risks in a matrix format, with Likelihood on the Y-axis and Severity on the X-axis. It can be customized, including reversing the axes, providing flexibility in visualizing and managing risks efficiently.

To configure the matrix in Codebeamer, use custom fields in the Risk Tracker or the Risk Management tab within the tracker customization page. New risk Trackers automatically include:

• Likelihood intervals: Set using custom choice fields.
• Severity intervals: Also configured through custom choice fields.

You can assign these intervals as background colors in the matrix, which is managed under the Risk Management tab on the tracker customization page.
